A hydraulic hangar door is one rigid panel that swings out and up on cylinders, so nearly all of its load runs through the hinges and the hydraulic system. We stock single, double, and triple-barrel hinge assemblies, cylinder safety blocks with cartridge valves, power buttons and controls, SOOW cord, and EPDM weather seal for hydraulic doors.

Hinge assemblies carry the load

Hydraulic doors concentrate the entire panel weight into a small number of hinge points, so the hinges take forces that no other door type puts on a single component. Our mild-steel hinge assemblies use a generous surface area to distribute that load evenly across the mounting rather than concentrating it at the barrel. They come in single, double, and triple-barrel configurations depending on the size and weight of your door.

Cylinder safety blocks

A cylinder safety block with a cartridge valve is what keeps a raised hydraulic door from dropping if the system loses pressure. It sits at the cylinder and holds the load mechanically rather than relying on the pump. This is the component that makes a hydraulic door safe to stand under, and it is not something to defer when it needs replacing.

Controls and sealing

Hydraulic doors use the same control hardware as other powered hangar doors: normally-open power buttons for open and close, a normally-closed e-stop that cuts all circuits when pressed, and SOOW cord to carry power to components that move with the door. For sealing, EPDM weather seal works along the straight edges and brush seal closes the irregular gaps where the panel meets an uneven frame.
